The Odd Couple, by Neil Simon, which is being produced in cooperation with Samuel French, Inc., will feature Matt Emerson as everyone’s favorite slob, Oscar Madison; Jim Steffl as the fastidious Felix Ungar; Patrick Grover as NYPD cop, Murray; Bill Street as the quick witted, Speed; Richard Sanford as the slow witted, Vinnie; Andrew Woodard as Oscar’s accountant, Roy; Diane Schultz as giggly English widow, Gwendolyn; and Lisa Steffl as giggly English divorcee, Cecily.

The plot of the show deals with neurotic, neat freak news writer Felix Ungar, who has been thrown out by his wife and moves in with his friend Oscar Madison, a slovenly sportswriter. Despite Oscar’s problems since his divorce—careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept apartment filled with spoiled food—he seems to be enjoying life. Felix, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out his own and other people’s mistakes and foibles. He proves to be annoying to everyone except their neighbors, the Pigeon sisters, who take pity on Felix when no one else will.

The show is under the direction of Jennie Ortega. Jessica Walworth is Assistant Director and Gie Stenberg is Stage Manager. Technical Director is Jim Steffl and House Manager is Heidi Flanagan.

The show will be performed at the Watertown Players Theater, located in the Market, 210 S Water St., Watertown, on May 12, 13, 19, and 20, 2017, at 7:00 pm and on May 21 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are available for purchase at Piggly Wiggly, Watertown, and on-line at Brownpapertickets.com. Ticket prices are $12 in advance and $16 at the door.
